Introduction
ACIBIYATECH is committed to empowering youth, women, and displaced populations in underserved communities by providing practical digital skills, even in areas with limited or no internet access. Our flagship initiative, the Community Digital Learning Hubs Program, combines offline community-based learning with structured online modules. We ensure that learners—including those forced to flee their homes—gain the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the digital economy. We believe that digital skills are the ultimate portable asset: carried in the mind, not in a suitcase.
The Problem We Address Many young people, women, and displaced persons in underserved communities face barriers to digital education due to:
Limited or unstable internet connectivity.
Lack of access to personal devices.
Physical and Economic Displacement: Loss of traditional assets like land or storefronts, making portable digital income a necessity for survival.
Education Interruption: Constant movement that breaks traditional schooling cycles.
Social and structural barriers affecting participation in crisis zones.
Our Solution The Community Digital Learning Hubs Program addresses these challenges through a model designed for mobility and autonomy:
Offline-first community learning spaces: Adapted for rural areas and transition zones (camps or host communities).
Portable Knowledge: Skills that allow a displaced youth to work as a freelancer, achieving independence without needing a physical shop or land.
Resilient Learning: A hybrid model that ensures access even in the most resource-limited environments.
Mission and Vision Mission: To bridge the digital divide by providing practical, inclusive digital learning solutions tailored for low-connectivity environments, with a strong focus on youth, women, and displaced populations seeking to rebuild their lives through technology.
Vision: A future where every young person, woman, and displaced individual, regardless of their location or status, can acquire high-quality digital skills and achieve autonomy in the digital economy.
Target Audience Youth, women, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in rural and peri-urban areas of the DRC and Burundi. We serve those facing limited internet access, social norms, and the geographical instability of displacement.
Approach and Methodology The program combines offline and online components for a comprehensive and portable learning experience:
Offline (Community Hubs / Mobile Modules):
Mobile learning modules: Designed to reach displaced communities where they are.
Preloaded digital libraries: Ensuring learning continues even when internet and home stability are absent.
Online (Digital Modules / Levels):
Advanced Level: Artificial Intelligence, digital design, and freelancing strategies (enabling income generation without physical borders).
Offline Phases (Community Hubs / Physical Modules) Phase 1: Foundations – Digital Literacy & Confidence Building: Introduction to tools to reduce the “digital fear” often felt by marginalized and displaced groups.
Phase 2: Skill Development: Practical learning tailored to local needs and remote work opportunities.
Phase 3: Community Application: Applying skills to real-life practice, allowing learners to become facilitators or digital entrepreneurs who can work from anywhere.
Expected Outcomes Acquisition of portable digital skills that travel with the learner.
Strengthened autonomy: Transitioning from aid-dependency to self-reliance through digital work.
Ability to work in freelance, bypassing the need for land or physical storefronts.
Program Status The Community Digital Learning Hubs Program is currently implemented as a social impact initiative, with a clear pathway toward:
Strengthened partnerships with humanitarian and development organizations.
Institutional growth as a leader in digital resilience for displaced populations.
