Empowering Your Success in Modern Technology

ACIBIYATECH is a community-driven digital education initiative that makes practical technology and digital skills accessible to underserved youth, displaced populations (IDPs), and women in East Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi.

Through an offline-first and community-based approach, ACIBIYATECH reduces dependence on continuous internet connectivity by using shared learning spaces, preloaded digital resources, guided workshops, and peer learning. We believe that for those facing displacement, digital knowledge is the ultimate portable asset: it is a baggage that weighs nothing, carried in the mind rather than in a suitcase. It is the lightest and most precious tool a displaced person can possess to rebuild their life. This allows young people to begin building relevant digital skills today, even in low-connectivity environments, and to participate meaningfully in the digital economy and social development.

Our Mission

ACIBIYATECH’s mission is to reduce the digital divide by providing accessible, practical, and inclusive digital learning solutions tailored to low-connectivity and offline environments, with a strong focus on displaced youth, women, and underserved communities.

Objectives:

 General Objective:

To empower underserved youth, displaced persons, and women with practical digital skills that enhance autonomy, employability, and long-term participation in social and economic development.

Our goal is to ensure that a displaced person, underserved youth and women trained in digital skills can work in freelance or micro-tasks, achieving economic independence without the need to own land or a physical storefront.

Specific Objectives:

  • Provide access to digital skills training without reliance on constant internet connectivity.
  • Deliver practical and relevant learning pathways adapted to local realities and the constraints of displacement.
  • Create safe, inclusive, and community-based learning environments.
  • Address gender-based, social, and geographical barriers to digital skills access.
  • Build a strong foundation for ACIBIYATECH’s transition into a formal non-profit organization.

Approach and Methodology

ACIBIYATECH adopts a hybrid, Online and offline-first learning approach.

Online:

  • Curating and structuring practical learning resources from trusted sources.
  • Organizing content into clear and skills-focused learning pathways.

Offline:

  • Community learning hubs and mobile learning modules: Designed to reach people where they are, including transition zones and temporary settlements.
  • Preloaded digital libraries: Accessible without internet to ensure continuous learning regardless of location.
  • Group workshops, guided practice, and peer learning sessions: Building community resilience through shared knowledge.
  • Tech clubs using shared devices and local networks: Enabling learners to progress even in environments with limited or unreliable connectivity.
